This three level Auckland home with impressive views to Rangitoto Island and Mission Bay was built in 1997 for the current owners. We undertook a substantial renovation bringing the house into the 21st century. The house increased in size from 336m2 to 349.6m2 with the decks reducing from 44m2 to 32m2. The house includes a lift, four bedrooms and an office, three bathrooms and separate toilet, two separate living areas with double car garage. The renovation included new roofing, gutter, spouting and downpipes, a mixture of painted and stained Cedar weatherboards on a cavity system. This was complemented by a section of schist around the front entry. The aluminium joinery was a mixture of residential and commercial profiles. This was a complex house with a risk matrix exceeding 20 points, with a lot of complicated flashings details which were all constructed with welded aluminium and then powder coated. On the interior the house has been completely repainted, a 600 x 600 porcelain tile was used extensively throughout the house on the floors with a matching 600 x 300 porcelain tile used throughout the bathroom walls. The kitchen was upgraded with the use of Miele appliances, Blum drawer runners and sprayed lacquer finish, just a few of the features making this kitchen practical and stylish. The landscaping was all upgraded, which included an automatic irrigation and sprinkler system.
The home was entered in the Auckland 2008 Registered Master Builders House of the Year Builders Awards and achieved a Silver Award.
